How do I transfer a domain to another registrar?
I am looking to transfer a domain to another registrar. How do I go about doing this?
Please note that you should be able to configure your domain to work with any external service provider. You can configure your domain to work with Wix, Weebly, Squarespace, Google, Wordpress and actually any email, hosting or site provider. Just get the DNS settings and configure them in your control panel at
If you want to change us as your domain registration provider, and want to move your domain to another regisration company like Go Daddy, Namecheap, etc. you need to follow these steps.
Note this would cancel any registration service you have with us and you would need to contact your new registration service to manage your domain and services.
To transfer your domain to another registrar.
1. Make sure it´s not locked. You can unlock your domain by logging into your control panel, going to the Management section of the domain and clicking the ON notification by the Transfer lock indication. Make sure it indicates Off.
2. Once you´re sure the domain is unlocked disable any Privacy protection you may have for the domain. You will find this under the Transfer lock indications with the title. Whois privacy. Click the On and make sure it says Off. (Note the privacy option is not available for .NYC domains)
3. Retrieve your Authorization code: In the management section of the domain, look for the button at the upper right corner that says: Authorization Code and click it. Once you click on this a popup will appear with the Authorization code.
Take this Authorization code to your new provider. They should be able to guide you through the transfer process. Please make sure you complete these steps before starting a transfer process. This way you should not have issues while performing the action.
As always, feel free to email
