If I renew the domain after expiration what will the new expiration date be?
If I let my domain expire, and I renew it afterwards, what will the new expiration date be?
Will it be one year from the renewal? Or one year from the previous expiration date?
If you renew a domain after its expiration, the new expiration will be the previous expiration date, plus one year. You will not get additional days for your domain if you renew after expiration. Any renewal will only add one year to the previous expiration date, regardless if it is done before or after the renewal date of the domain.
Therefore, if you renew in advance of the expiration date, you will not lose the days left until the expiration. But, if you renew after the expiration date you will not get any credit or adjustment for the days in which your service was offline. Remember that the services associated to the domain, like email and website will stop working after a domain expires.
Hope this helps!
